HAPPY NEW YEAR. Good news. Many people think I make up all the comments that appear below my columns, but I’m pretty sure I don’t. But I don’t defend myself very vigorously, since the comments are so often funnier and cleverer than my posts. Several people think I am Liftie. Continue to think that if you wish, it makes my head swell.
Anyway, I can confirm that I have not made up Chamin’s comments. I met him in Tokyo and bought him dinner. There he is in the picture below, sitting between my gorgeous daughter Kelci, 16, and myself. (Kelci is the one with the hair.)
Chamin turned out to be my twin in terms of personality: he loves science while not being hostile to people of faith, he has a serious penchant for doing charity work, and he’s from Sri Lanka. I took lots of notes in Japan and will write about it when I get a chance.
Anyway, I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who sent Christmas and or New Year wishes – much appreciated. I’ll start doing “proper” new posts from tomorrow.
Meanwhile, just in case you haven’t seen “eyebrows girl”, here is the current fave video going around – just a cute Australian-Filipino 13-year-old wobbling her eyebrows – and she got seven million hits in two days. Nothing like an adorable kid to make you smile…
