Thanks, Joe. Actually, I’m glad you brought that up. It’s a question that I have useful (I hope) views about.
Most writers advise new authors to get an agent. They say it is absolutely essential, and that publishers will not look at work unless it is submitted by an agent. They also say that agents are always worth their weight in gold.
There’s a lot of truth in all that, and any of you who have been told the above by authors are getting some good, sincerely held advice.
However, it’s not the whole picture.
